exploring New York City, and writing about what she sees.

About Me

When people learn I’m a copy editor, they usually don’t have a lot to say. It’s not a field that elicits replies more complex than “I better make sure I use correct grammar!” or “Hey, can you edit my novel/cover letter/wedding speech/blog?” Unless people have strong opinions about comma placement and proper indexing, the conversation pretty much ends there.

While being a copy editor might not be glamorous, it sure is fun. I’m the kind of girl who carries a red pen in my purse to secretly fix menus and ketchup bottles. I like to argue about the Oxford comma and whether the Associated Press was right to change “Web site” to “website.” I read style manuals for enjoyment. And yes, I will edit your novel/cover letter/wedding speech/blog if I like you enough.

When I’m not thinking about semicolons, you can find me traipsing around New York searching for the best street art and the most delicious coffee. I’m an amateur painter and photographer, and someday I might even find the courage to tag a building. I read everything I can get my hands on, and I have been writing since I learned to read.

Welcome to Too Many Commas, where you’ll get a taste of everything that interests me, from grammar to graffiti.
