Sweet Tooth’s: Not the Best Branding Choice
Sweet Tooth’s used to be an ice cream and dessert place in Alpena. It’s closed now, and I just can’t imagine why; the rotten tooth on the sign sure makes me want to eat lots and lots of sugar.
Godzilla Guards the NYC Fire Department
I saw this on St. Marks Place a month ago: The FDNY fire engine No. 5 has a giant Godzilla action figure glued to the top. See here for a detail shot.
According to The Villager, this fire engine’s mascot is Godzilla. In the ’80s, apparently, a little boy who was rescued gave the fire team a Godzilla doll (this one, perhaps?). Their shoulder patch also features Godzilla storming through NYC — here’s one for sale.
That’s about all the info I could scrape up on this little guy, but it definitely gave me a chuckle as I walked down the street.
